INSIDER TIPS ON USING YOUR PLANNER

WE GIVE YOU THE BEST ADVICE FOR USING YOUR DIGITAL PLANNER, IPAD TEMPLATE OR NOTION TEMPLATE

BUY THE VERSION THAT YOU KNOW BEST

We have created the guide in three distinct versions because we know that everyone is different and that’s ok. With a Digital Planner for use with IPads and Tablets, a physical print out and a notion template – make sure you pick the version that is right for you.

Notion is an incredible tool and our template has bespoke advance features, so you may want to do a little research around notion itself (which we will be providing) before signing up for this version.

The Digital Planner is compatible with all notetaking apps including Goodnotes, Notability and Noteshelf, so make sure you have access to an iPad or tablet and these programmes before purchasing this version.

The Physcial Print Out is perfect for started who just want to understand how to organise their mornings or work towards specific goals, it’s almost like the beginner step for planning and great if you just want a good way to start getting on top of everything you’re trying to manage.

GET THE SET-UP RIGHT

As with anything, the best tools provide the best results. For each template the set up will be different. For the physical print out you need to make sure you have a printer (obvious) but also that you have a folder or a stapler, something to keep the pieces together. For the Digital Planner, alongside a tablet you will need to chose which app you favour and make sure you have a stylus to enable ease of use for handwriting.

The notion template can be used on either the app (free from the app store) or the web based version. Notion is free for personal use, but if you are rolling the Good Mornings Guide out to a company or a wider group you may have to invest in a business plan.

BE CONSISTENT

The best plan is the one you stick to….this applies to most things in life but it’s so true. Any digital planner or notion template can only be impactful if you actually stick to it.

TURN IT INTO A HABIT

There is a reason why our guides all contain habit trackers. If you are new to digital planners or even notion templates, it feels a little clunky to move from what you were originally doing (i.e. note taking) and adopting a new habit to pick up an iPad, sign into a browser or find a specific print out. By re-training your responses to pick up your chosen planner you will get more from your Good Mornings Guide, check out our article on how to form a habit loop if you need a little hand getting into using the guide.

COMMIT TO USING IT

Along the same lines as the previous points, but you should really commit. And by that we mean over commit. Set aside time to review your planner, put time in your work or personal calendar as a reminder to use it. Even if it feels silly at first, committing to use when you don’t particularly feel like it will pay off in the long run.

GET AN ACCOUNTABILITY PARTNER

An accountability partner goes a long way. Once you have purchased a guide, tell someone you are using it and ask them to check in to make sure you’re keeping it up. So often we get excited about what’s new and shiny, thinking that just the purchase will set you on track but it’s the use that gets you where you need to be going. Once you have committed to using the digital planner or notion template. tell a friend so they can help keep you accountable.

BE HONEST

Whether it is the digital planner, the notion template or the physical planner, this guide is for you. No one is going to be seeing it. no one has any expectations on it and it’s not a placard to be posted to show how well you’re doing. The Guide is for you, warts and all. If something is not going well be honest about it, if you’re not keeping up with your daily practices mark it down. Be truly honest with what you input into the guide because that’s the only way you can track progress and grow daily.

UTILISE EACH SECTION, BUT ADAPT TO WHAT YOU NEED

Each section is carefully curated for our audience and through our research and learnings on our own journey to Good Mornings. Especially if you have purchased a themed guide, utilise each section to get the most out of it. On the absolute contrary if something is completely not working for you, adapt. Especially with the notion template – there are a lot of sections as this is a more in depth version of the planner to make sure that as much is included as possible. You may not see the need for a lot of it so feel free to make it bespoke to you. If there is something that is really not working and you feel you need something completely bespoke. Please reach out to us at hello@goodmornings.co.uk to make changes to your digital planner.

ENJOY IT

We love using our guide, it fills us with a sense of direction, purpose, and honestly joy. The satisfaction is part of the reason why we wanted to put our products out into the world. Enjoy your guide, it’s a treat and a privilege to include it in your daily life and we want you to have fun with it and love it.
