MAPPING OUT YOUR MORNING
For this month, your exercise is to start mapping out your ideal morning. Start by grabbing a piece of paper and writing the headings
VALUES
GOALS
CORE DAILY TASKS
THINGS THAT MAKE ME HAPPY
Under these headings write down anything about yourself that fits within this. Think about what your bigger goals are, what behaviours you value, what you want to project and what you actually have to get done in the morning.
Once you have things for each heading, jot down next to each of them a few ideas of behaviours that can help you get there. It might help to start a fresh page with each of the values, things and tasks you have created (a spreadsheet also helps with this). You should end up with a list of things and then a bunch of ideas of activities or behaviours that can get you to complete that core task, work towards that goal, embed that value or simply make you happy.
From this list choose one thing that you are going to start tomorrow. Just one. See how that makes you feel, do you want this to be part of your routine, did it add value? Rinse and repeat until you have a sure fire addition to your morning routine. This can be as general as you want, such as read, exercise, give someone a compliment, smile; or as specific as you need, empty the dishwasher, clean the litter tray, do 10 push ups.
