AN EXERCISE FOR BETTER SLEEP

We’ve previously shared some easy morning meditation exercises, but a good morning always starts with a good nights sleep. So this months exercise is a breathing technique for better sleep

THE 4-7-8 BREATHING TECHNIQUE

1. Get yourself in a comfortable position, it can be seated or lying down, however you will be able to sit calm and still without fidgeting.

2.With your mouth slightly open, exhale deeply and completely.

3.Press your lips together and silently inhale through your nose for the count of four.

4.Hold at the top of your breath for a count of seven.

5.Fully exhale for eight seconds with the same parted mouth as the first part of the exercise.

6.Repeat four times, building to eight repetitions with practice.
